Scene from the play 'False Gods'. The setting is an Ancient Egyptian palace or temple with large columns decorated with hieroglyphs and Egyptian gods. Beerbohm Tree, as the High Priest, stands on a raised platform with arms spread wide. A large group of people lie prostrate on the floor beneath him. In the centre background stands a group of Roman soldiers. Red robe is a play directed against the injustices of the law.
